Every Weitzel Banjo will be made to your specifications. This will be your banjo, so I will work with you to make sure it is everything you want it to be. Do you have a strange idea? I love to hear the ideas others have simply because it will lead me to do something I wouldn’t have thought of myself, so please contact me just to see if I might be able to accommodate your request.
How much will it cost? If you’ve visited this site earlier, you may remember very specific numbers being put up. That was my attempt to put a value on every option that may come up, but I have come to realize that these custom jobs don’t quite work that way. Since every instrument will be truly unique, I’ll work up an accurate quote after talking to you. It may well be less than you think if you have priced a custom banjo from other makers.
Do you make any standard models at a set price? Not yet, however it is one of my goals to get there in the near future. But really it’s more fun to make them all one-of-a-kind.
Currently Available Banjo’s. As of yet I haven’t been able to make banjos to keep in stock. If/when I get enough time to have anything in inventory, I’ll surely make it known!
What will the process look like? To discuss possibilities please contact me. If, after talking, we find that we are a good match for each other (builder and player), we’ll start the planning process. You can have as much or as little involvement in the design process as you’d like. Once we decide what your banjo will entail, and you’ve agreed to my quote, I’ll send an invoice to you. All banjo orders will require a down payment of 50% of the quoted price. Payment can be made via credit card, check, or money order. Credit cards payments can be accepted through PayPal (in an emailed invoice link – you do not need a PayPal account). Personal checks must be cleared before work is started or shipped. Then the work starts. I’ll keep you updated on the progress of the banjo and send photos of it being made. When I’m done, I’ll invoice you for the balance due. When that payment is received, I’ll ship it to you. See my guarantee that you will love it to the right.
Components: Currently, the only components I make that will work with other banjos are my tailpieces and bridges. You can find them on the components page.
